1) RSVP wording is paramount to saving you money, one tip, use Number of Persons ____.
2) See real copies of a Calligraphers work, expect perfection, everyone has reduced their prices now.
3) Ask how long the ordering process will take, get it in writing.
4) Collect the business cards of your ceremony & reception venues for proper invite wording.
5) View papers in person, ask for samples,
6) Be wary of using the Internet to buy your wedding invites, bad paper quality & print may shock you.
7) Pay the $10.00 fee for a PROOF, it saves time & money.
8) Know if you are going to go contemporary or traditional before you contact your stationery professional, he/she can organize for your visit & save you time.
9) Both Bride & Groom should come to the Invitation session, it makes the whole wedding more meaningful
10) Take your calligraphed, beautiful invitations to your local post office & have them hand cancel the envelopes, so that they are not messed up through the ink machine
Contacting a professional wedding invitation stationer can be the most important thing you do as a new bride and groom. See one that has been in the wedding business for many years, as they will know all of the pit falls and potential problems. Store fronts make mistakes, as they have sales people that do not know the wedding business.
I have corrected so many problems that Internet ordering allows. One common mistake is putting the wrong RSVP date. Running second is forgetting the return address on the outer envelope. Who has time to wait while they reprint? Do not skimp on your Wedding Invitations. They single-handedly set the stage for your dream day. The invitation is the first impression of your wedding day! Remember the old adage, “you never have a second chance at a first impression.” Go for it, treat yourself, it’s your day & once in a lifetime!

Gushed down all day and still gushing tonight …
The drivers Here don’t follow any rules, so scarey.
A wedding took place last night, Friday, near the pool, right below my window. The music
Festive and celebratory…it went on until 5:30 this morning. I didn’t get a wink of sleep.
I figured tonight would be a Sheraton Presidente Wedding Saturday night.
I FOUND OUT three weddings tonight.
Tomorrow, Sunday, is the Women’s Conference & Tea. I am giving my testimony & singing
Sandi Eason is delivering the message on devotions. 400+ confirmed guests.
Pastor Carlos Bautista told me that several of the family members of the gangs will be attending our event. The situation of the Government vs. the Gangs is extremely
Dangerous right now. I am looking forward to being back in the USA.
Thanks for your Prayers,
Karen

Yesterday we went to market to buy supplies. We got caught in a downpour, as we were leaving. We scrunched up against the side of the building to keep dry. I was surprised tobrush up against a Guard with an UZI. WOOPS! Guards & Militia are everywhere. Many people arrived today from all over Central America, Belize, Guatemala. We are now at the SheratonPresidente, where the buses can arrive bringing Pastors from the airport. This is where the Presidents stay when in San Salvador. President Bush stayed here. I got to visit the Calvary Chapel School yesterday and met with some children. The school is beautiful, clean & neat with a colorful playground, soccer area, outside lunch area, many murals on the walls. The cheerful play of the school children was welcome to me.Our count for the WOMEN’S CONFERENCE this Saturday, has risen. We are adding 70 more lunch accommodations.Tomorrow we bake all day at the Orphanage in San Martin.I just heard that there are many mosquitoes in the countryside where the Orphanage is located. So I am going to be prepared! If you read this, pray for the guests coming to the event. Sunday is theBig day (Women’s Conference ’09), the Pastor’s Conference is on SATURDAY.Love & Blessings, Karen Karen JewellNov ’09 El SalvadorMission Team

CALLIGRAPHY in The Sky ~ San Salvador Day One
My eyes fixated on San Salvador from the 757, @ Five O’Dark thirty AM.
Plane cram packed, but me? I got bumped up to Biz Class, like hitting the Lottery.
Our flight was fully booked and our group of 6, were the token Americans.
Our landing was smooth, clear skies, 72 degrees. 89% humidity.
Luscious patchwork green fields, coconut palm, farm land and moss covered
Tropical forests reach out to meet the shoreline of San Salvador, a city of three million.
From my window seat, the forest continues to surround the runway,
Like a naturally well groomed garden.
Twelve big suitcases filled with SPANISH bibles and 14 teapots for the
2nd Annual Women’s Conference and Tea, accompany our team.
The Pastors are coming in Monday from all over Central
America, to garner the fellowship, which brought them all together a few years
Ago. Not much English spoken here.
Our leader, David Eason is fluent, and comes here many times a year to visit the
Orphanage & school that his Father built over 30 years ago. Sandi Eason, Dave’s wife, invited
Me to join her this year, as she speaks to the women, regarding devotion and being
Consistent in the Word of God.
I brought my knowledge of videography, which I understand will be fully
Utilized, Have Calligraphy pens will travel, for signage, and cooking skills,
Home made treats for our lovely guests.
Tonight we attended the largest Calvary Chapel Church outside of the
United States, 2,000. It is our venue for the Conference.
I am now nestled in my feather bed for the night & rise early to explore
The volcano nearby.

Yes it is true! A portion of my proceeds, from the Michael Jackson Burial Invite, are being used to fund a missionary trip to El Salvador. My plane leaves this Friday, for a 10 day sojourn to aid the poor & lost. We will be ministering at an orphanage. The babies & children are not only nurtured, but also educated. The founders have recently constructed a school, adjacent to the orphanage. Our mission is to encourage, to love and to share our hearts with these beautiful people.
The young boys & girls have a chance to prosper and learn the love of God in this process.
I will have updates (if I am able to get to a Wi Fi station) Please send us your prayers.
P.S.
Our ladies have organized a Woman’s Conference on November 8th. We are expecting 400 women from all over Central America. Through our friends, we have gathered up a piece jewelry to give to each woman to remind them of this love & that people do love & care for them.
Included in a gift bag, along with a devotional & a book mark.
I think Michael would have loved the jewelry part.
I will share my journey when I return.
God Bless and Keep you,
Karen

The buzz of the upcoming release of MJ’s “THIS IS IT” movie is blockbuster all over the world.
I had no idea how many fans & how intimate they were about Michael. As his Invitation designer
for the burial invitation, I have been receiving tons of E mails requesting photos & please can I have a
copy of the invitation. Just mind blowing. I have one little girl from Kuwait, that is just in love with him
and sends me everything about Michael she has. She is only 12, so that goes to show one how someone who
was not even born when Michael was in his hayday, just fell in love with his videos & music.
It just keep getting bigger & bigger. Have a great day.
Blessings

Who would have ever guessed I got this job!!!! I am certainly qualified, have been doing custom invite design and hand calligraphy for 25 years…BUT HELLOOOO… this is Michael Jackson,” The King of Pop.” I am still in frozen shock over aquiring this ”new client” and to top it off, he is not even on this planet anymore, strange, so strange.
The E mail came to me at 7:58 PM on the eve of August 24, 2009. I did not pick up my E mails until 9:30PM
that night. That will teach me to check my E mails every five minutes!! I was in disbelief and read it 3 times.
It read,” Would you be interested in working on an announcement for Michael Jackson’s burial announcement for the family.” I mused, “Uh, is this a hoax or early halloween trick??? I quickly googled the two names at the bottom of the page
and found Michael and Dennis to be costume designers for Michael for 30 years!! I was a believer. I wrote back and said I please call me after 9 am in the morning, wondering if anyone ever would….to be continued
TO SEE NEW Michael Jackson photos…Please go to my Invitation/calligraphy site:
Thank you,
Karen Jewell
PS Do you know anyone who is getting married?
